On March 24, the first studio visit of the year took place. Our members were guests in the studio of the artist duo Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs and got an insight into their current projects.

Taiyo Onorato told us in words and pictures about the three-month residency at KAUST Red Sea Research Center in Saudi Arabia, which the duo started in spring. Part of ZHdK's artists-in-lab program, which promotes dialogue between art and science, the residency allows the artists to explore foreign underwater worlds, capture them photographically, and become familiar with marine science technologies and processes.

In addition, the artist showed us recent "works in progress": large-scale photograms in which the duo worked with different materials and forms. We also talked about films by the duo as well as the artist's book as a special format. Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs are currently working on a series of 5-6 publications with Edition Patrick Frey. So far the first book "Future Memories" has been published.
