After three individual sheets in 1998, 1999 and 2001, Albrecht Schnider created the four lithographs on hand, his first group of prints, in close cooperation with Thomi Wolfensberger. Formally and in terms of content, the works show a great proximity to Schnider's lacquer painting and address a central concern of his artistic work: the precarious balance between the portrayed and the mode of representation, between image and ornament, between sense and emptiness of meaning.

Adrian Schiess became known for his "flat works": cut rectangular, mostly monochrome painted panels, underlaid with squared timber and arranged in rows on the floor. The shiny surfaces reflect the surrounding space and become part of the installation. Another group of works by Schiess are the "Fragments": irregularly torn, colorfully painted papers and cardboard. From 1994 onwards, he also created large-format, multi-part photographs and videos. The two lithographs "Full Moon 1" and "Full Moon 2" were created in 2004 together with a larger series of full moon pictures and with two editions of 6 heliogravures and 2 bromoprints of pornographic photographs.

In the project "Hall-Palermo" he and other artists transformed his apartment into an exhibition space for two years. Painting and colour are important to him and he questions their effect and perception. He experiments with different techniques to overcome the problems in the field of tension between representationalism and abstraction. In doing so, he makes use of various plastic, painterly and linguistic forms of expression and observes colours in their interplay, the appearance created by contrasts, the emerging feeling for colour. In our silk-screen prints he demonstrates the different roles of colours by means of circular and spherical elements and the change from yellow to blue, red or green.

There is no standstill in the "idiosyncratic" pictorial worlds of the artist. His motifs and creations are constantly transformed into new stories full of poetry. His pictorial world is digital, it speaks a language rooted in drawing, which reflects our present in a model-like manner. The artificial transformation of these streams of images is all the more touching in view of their stillness, their multi-layered time structure, their tenderness. It encounters fundamental and most sensitive questions of the living. It presents the paradox that virtual, artificial images make the conditions and entanglements of human existence physically tangible. For the Verein für Originalgraphik, Yves Netzhammer has designed two serigraphs printed on both sides of glass, elaborately realized by Lorenz Boegli.

Since the late 1990s, Müller has again been intensively engaged in painting. Following the human images of the early years, he creates natural landscapes, thereby expanding the view of a superior body of nature. While at first it was aerial photographs of glaciers, mountains and valleys that attracted him as a painterly examination, in his new cycle "Wald" (Forest) Müller opens up insights into hidden mysterious primeval landscapes. He meticulously deals with reality, which he painterly reconstructs. The forest pieces enable a distanced view of nature, as well as the apparent possibility of entering pictures.

Markus Gadient's landscapes open up to the viewer like a fairy tale. In addition to the motif of the tree, it is the realm of vegetative growth that appears through the condition of the painting itself. Zones of plant growth are interwoven with areas of concrete landscape perception, whose simultaneity allows outer nature and inner state of mind to come together. The three original graphics on hand refer thematically to the current works in his painting. The backgrounds were made as inkjet prints, and the further processing was carried out in silkscreen technique.

Marc-Antoine Fehr cultivates the classic genres of landscape, still life, portrait and interior. He has always been preoccupied with complex themes, which he presents in monumental formats and picture cycles. His involvement with painters such as Piero della Francesca, Bruegel, Bosch and Rembrandt, as well as the literature of Dante, Flaubert, Kafka and Beckett, have had a significant influence on the artist's pictorial world. We have already published works by Marc-Antoine Fehr in 1991/96/98 and 2000. Some are still available. The present etching is part of a cycle of etchings that were made after sketches for a three-part painting that is in the making. The main concern of the artist is to preserve the vividness of the sketch when transferring it to the copper plate.
