Bright orange stripes run horizontally over the grey background of the three leaves, widening and tapering, bending on vertical axes and changing direction. As quasi-parallel tracks they create dynamics and depth, but can only be read as a construction of space to a limited extent; they are the deflections of a seismographic application of paint. The composition oscillates between line and surface, between strict geometric forms and expressive ductus. The three square formats are excerpts of a drawing movement that continues through the pictorial space: As an actual loop, the three sheets can be placed next to each other as often as desired in the horizontal plane, but in the vertical continuation, the fixed vanishing points result in a monochrome orange surface. The randomness of the cropping and the focus on a concise construction keep the balance.
