The artistic work of Barbara Davi moves largely in spatial dimensions. Specifically in the case of her spatial installations, in which she engages both constructively and intuitively with the given architectural structures, traces of use, found furniture and possible views. Subsequently, she develops her subtle interventions, which evoke imaginary spaces and surprising perspectives with colours, pictorial elements and precise, mostly delicate sculptural settings. The starting point for the two lithographs created by Barbara Davi are illustrations of pieces of furniture from a French magazine of the 1930s ("Art et Industrie"), the almost essential appearances of a "Bergère" and a "Commode". Davi has overprinted the two pieces of furniture with geometric shapes in transparent yet bright colours. Thus the chair transforms into a voluminous structure through the superimposed ellipses and enters into an optical rotation, while the chest of drawers is extended by one level into the depths, opening up in a mysterious way.
